Biography
Dr. Vijay M Sarode has been working since 1982 in the Mulund College of Commerce, Mumbai, India, and since then teaching to the undergraduate courses in Statistics, Mathematics & Computer and has taught Compu-math to the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science & Applications (DCSA) course of Department of Computer Science of Mumbai University, India for 4 years. At present he is Associate Professor of Statistics and Head, Dept. of Statistics, Mathematics and Computer. Author was recipient of Government of India Fellowship and University Merit Scholarship. He is Recognized PhD Guide in Statistics of Shri JJTU, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, India. Author has completed his Ph.D. in Statistics. Author's area of specialization is Morbidity, Mortality, Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), ANC, PNC, Immunization, awareness of HIV/AIDS among slum dwellers and health related problems among elderly in slums. Author has so far published 7 research papers in the International Journals, (1 more is in the press) (CG Publisher, Australia, 2007, OMIX, Los Angeles, 2014) published 1 book from UK/USA, completed 4 minor research of which one was awarded consolation prize by the University of Mumbai. Author has presented 9 papers in the International Conferences held in America (New York (2007), San Diego (2009), Washington DC (2010), Boston (2012)), Egypt (Cairo (2008)), South Korea (Chuncheon (2007)), UK (Falmer, Brighton (2009)), Greece (Athens (2013)) and 5 at the National with the travel grants received from the various funding institutions like Wellcome Trust, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs & the W.H.O., UGC, ICSSR, New Delhi, India, Sir Ratan and Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai, India, University of Mumbai, Sir Mangaldas Scolarship. Besides, author was awarded a scholarship of $ 1400 as tuition fees to attend a workshop organized by the Harvard School of Public Health held in June, 2012 at Boston, MA - USA. He is also a member of International and National Associations. His papers are being referred by the researchers. He has also send a proposal of Minor research on “Aging and their disorders among slum and non-slum dwellers” to UGC, Pune, India.
