He is affliated to Department of Virology, Medical University Vienna, Vienna, Austria and He is currently working as a professor of virology and his research involoved in evolution of influenza viruses in Austria and investigate its seasonal impact on the Austrian Population (number of influenza associated infections and deaths) and on vaccine effectiveness. his aim of ongoing studies is  to analyse influenza vaccine break through infections observed during previous influenza seasons and to estimate the impact of evolving influenza virus drift variants on influenza vaccine effectiveness in Austria.
