Biography
BDSc and BOralH curriculum in Paediatric Dentistry, Postgraduate studies and specialty training in Paediatric Dentistry. Current research interests are in the areas of clinical dentistry for children including developmental dental abnormalities and prevention of childhood caries. Related research interests include new approaches for caries management such as novel medicaments for pulp therapy for the primary dentition. Longitudinal studies of children from birth to over five years of age are being conducted to examine the effects of various preventive strategies on the development of early childhood caries. The randomised, controlled clinical trials have been extended to include studies on role of mutans streptococci and other dental biofilm bacteria in caries development using real-time PCR techniques.
