Pineda B Maria Ruth

Biography

Dr. Maria Ruth B. PIneda has received her PhD in Biological Science at the University of Santo Tomas during the period of 2008 -2012. Currently, she is working as faculty/researcher inUniversity of Santo Tomas Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Medical Technology and as a post-doctorate fellow under the ASEAN – US Fellows Pilot Program hosted by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development. She is a member of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, Inc., Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology/Public Health, Inc., Philippine Society of Parasitologists, American Association for Clinical Chemistry, National Research Council of the Philippines, and PCHRD Scholars Society.

Research Interest

Her research has included hygiene hypothesis involving allergy and parasitism, discovery of nutraceuticals, diabetes mellitus, and among others. She is serving as an editorial member of the ASEAN Network for Drugs, Diagnostics, Vaccines, and Traditional Medicines Innovation (ASEAN-NDI) Link Newsletter and an expert reviewer for journals like Journal Issues and Watchpub.She has authored several research articles such as Ascarissuum infective eggs upregulate IL-4, 5 and 10 in BALB/c mice, Meta-analysis of the Association Between PTPN11 G/A Polymorphism at Intron 3 with Risk of Gastric Atrophy Among East Asians, and others. She also authored the Clinical Chemistry Manual used by Medical Technology students.
