Biography
M.Palaniyandi., B.A.,M.Sc.,M.Tech.,PhD., is a Spatial Epidemiologist, who has 22 years of research experience, and who is currently working as a Research Scientist (Environmental Health and Spatial Epidemiology). He has completed his PhD in Geography with Specialisation in Spatial Epidemiology from Bharathidasan University in the year 2013-2016, Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Remote Sensing from Madurai Kamaraj University in the year 1990-1992, Master of Science (M.Sc.), Geography (Advanced Cartography) from Anna University in the year 1988-1990. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Geography and Cartography from Periyar EVR College (Bharathidasan University, Thiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India) in the year 1984 – 1987. His research works has mainly focus on remote sensing and GIS application to environmental health, medical geography, spatial epidemiology, land use / land cover changes, disease transmission risk assessment, disease surveillance, spatial analysis, spatial cognition, spatial modelling, geo-statistical analysis, environmental transition and management, and spatial modelling, disease transmission risk assessment and vulnerability. His area of expertise credits him with many publications in national and international journals. He is committed to highest standards of excellence and it proves through his authorship of many books.
