Biography
Nilesh S. Bhutada is an Assistant Professor of Social and Administrative Pharmacy at the California Northstate University College of Pharmacy, Rancho Cordova, California, USA. He earned his PhD in Pharmacy Care Administration from The University of Georgia, Athens, USA. His current research interests include source effects, direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs, consumer behavior, disease awareness advertising, medication adherence, and student learning assessment. Dr. Bhutada has received numerous awards recognizing his contributions to scholarship and research. Dr. Bhutada has received research grants from internal and external funding agencies. Recently, Dr. Bhutada received a research fellowship award from American Academy of Advertising. His work has been published in several national and international journals such as Health Marketing Quarterly, International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing, Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, and American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. He has contributed a book chapter titled “Direct-to-consumer advertising” in the Pharmaceutical Marketing textbook published by Jones & Bartlett Learning. Dr. Bhutada has made numerous conference presentations. He serves on the editorial board for the peer-reviewed journal Health Marketing Quarterly and also serves as a reviewer for journals such as American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing, Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, International Journal of Advertising, Drug Information Journal, American Journal of Health-Systems Pharmacy, and Journal of the American Pharmacists Association. Dr. Bhutada has taught courses in pharmacy communications, and pharmacy management and economic principles.
