Biography

Maria Marchetti-Mercer is an Professor of Psychology,Chair and Head of School:Human and Community Development,University of the Witwatersrand,Johannesburg Area, South Africa. She finished her education in University of Johannesburg in MA;Dlitt et Phil, Clinical Psychology from 1983 – 1993 and Scuola Europa from 1973 – 1975.She is also a qualified clinical psychologist with extensive training in family therapy. She worked as Professor and Head of School:Human and Community Development University of the Witwatersrand from January 2012 – Present (4 years 1 month) Head of Department of Psychology University of Pretoria from January 1995 – December 2011 (17 years) University of Johannesburg Lecturer University of Johannesburg from January 1991 – December 1994 (4 years) Researcher Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) from Jan 1990–Dec 1990.
