Biography
Laura capranica is working as a Professor in Department of Movement and Sport Sciences, University of Rome, Rome, Italy.Laura Capranica is full Professor of Sport Sciences at the University of Rome Foro Italico, acting as President of the Master's Degree on Sports Coaching and Coordinator of the PhD program on "Physical Activity and Sports Sciences." She Has Been a Fulbright Student in1986 at Indiana University and a Fulbright Scholar in 1992 at Indiana University and the University of Kansas. She is President of the European Student Athlete Network, Member of the Executive Board of the Italian Society of Movement and Sport Sciences, Associate Editor of the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, and Has Been AWARDED to Mobley International Distinguished Alumni Award from the School of Public Health of Indiana University.
She is Involved in the European Joint Programming Initiative "A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life" DEDIPAC "acting as Work Package leader for" Determinants of physical activity behavior across the life course. "
She has given over 120 lectures and communications in international conferences and meetings, and reviewed several manuscripts for International Journals.
Research Interest
Prof. Capranica 'scientific interests are on the identification of determinants (ie, social, psychological, biological, organizational, and technical) for sports practices and performance in the lifespan and in relation to gender; the development of the knowledge-based tools and resources needed to understand the effects of sport and exercise on human health; and the enhancement of bilateral translational links between laboratory and field evaluations of movement and sports performances
