 Microbiology;Microbial and plant Biochemistry;Algal Biochemistry.Received a CSIR Technology Award (as a team member) in the field of Biological  Science & technology  for the year 2001 for the" Development of  large scale cultivation of Eucheuma  and production of kappa carrageenan therefrom".Received Vikram Sarabhai award (as a team member) from Government of Gujarat for the year 2005-06 in the field of Industry for the work on â€œNew products and processes in the area of salt: From concept to commercializationâ.
Research Interest
  Exploitation of marine and alkaliphilic bacteria, extraction and physico-chemical analysis of phycocolloids from seaweeds, conducting environment impact assessment and environment audit for schedule 1 industries of Gujarat.
