Biography
Carol leads a program of research on birth defects and contributes to research on intellectual disability, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism, childhood cancer, diabetes, assisted reproductive technology and pharmacovigilance in pregnancy.arol's major research interests are neural tube defects and their prevention with folic acid, and the use of alcohol in pregnancy and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Her research has a strong focus on investigating causes and effects of birth defects and intellectual disability, on translating research findings into public health policy and practice, on evaluating the effectiveness of that translation and on involving consumers in research.
