Biography
Dr. Beyene Petros (born 11 March 1950) is a professor of Biology at Addis Ababa University and a former member of the Ethiopian House of People's Representatives, representing an electoral district in Badawacho of Hadiya Zone. He is currently the chairman of one of the largest opposition political parties in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Federal Democratic Forum Medrek

Immuno-parasitology & Tropical Public Health; The public health significance of tropical infectious diseases in Africa with particular emphasis on malaria and the NTDs. Co-infections and interactions between parasitic infections and HIV/AIDS. Validation of traditional medicines against tropical infectious Diseases. Health research ethics (Bioethics)
