Bavi Vythilingum

Dr. Bavi Vythilingum is a Psychiatry specialist, She is currently the chairperson on the board of Post Natal Depression SA and a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town. Her interests lie in Women's Mental Health and she was previously the head of that department at the University of Cape Town. She has worked with Post Natal Depression SA for many years and opened the Women's Health Clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital, which she still runs.

Biography
Dr. Bavi Vythilingum is a specialist psychiatrist who prides herself on working closely with other practitioners, She holds her Masters of Medicine Degree in Psychology from Stellenbosch University, a Fellowship of the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa, as well as a medical degree from the University of Natal and a Diploma in Child Health. She is currently the chairperson on the board of Post Natal Depression SA and a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town. Her interests lie in Women's Mental Health and she was previously the head of that department at the University of Cape Town. She works with a wide range of patients and treats a multitude of presenting problems, from eating disorders to terminal illness. Because of her expertise, she has featured on the TV Show "Hello Doctor" where she was able to educate viewers on Post Natal Depression.
