Biography
He is a Chief Scientist for National Institute of Oceanography, India.  He received a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Science from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in the year 1993. He served as a Scientist E-II (National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa), 1998 – 2004, Scientist F (National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa), 2004 – 2010 and Scientist G (National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa), 2010 - till date.  As a Scientist, he is a recipient of many awards and grants for his valuable contributions and discoveries in major area of research. His research interests, as a Scientist lie in Marine mineral exploration including Geochemistry and mineralogy of manganese nodules, crusts and associated sediments; Evolution of Mid-oceanic ridge rocks and Hydrothermal mineralisation therein, including their economic and paleoceanographic aspects. He is the Editorial Board Member of many peer reviewed journals and his area of expertise, as an Scientist credits him with many publications in national and international journals. He is committed to highest standards of excellence and it proves through his authorship of many books.
Research Interest
