Biography
Dr. Axel Heiser graduated as a biologist from Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany in 1990.  He has been in immunology research since then. He obtained his PhD in 1994 for his work on “Isolation and purification of porcine islets of Langerhans and their immunological characterization”.After completing post-doctoral studies in Kiel and at Christchurch Medical School he became involved with the development and clinical evaluation of dendritic cell based cancer vaccines at Duke University (Durham, NC, USA), Christian-Albrechts-University (Kiel, Germany) and the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL, USA).
