Biography
Dr. Aniefiok N. Osuagwu received her PhD in the year 2002 from University of Calabar in Nigeria.Currently, she is working as a Senior lecturer in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology of the same University. She has successfully completed Administrative responsibilities as Head of Department, Examination Officer, Member of various statutory committees in the Department.
Research Interest
Incompatibility grouping of R-Plasmids from Nigeria; Effects of Stress Agents on Morphology and Yield of the Forage grass Anthephora ampulacea and its Polyploid derivatives; Cytological Studies of many crop and medicinal plants; Effects of adverse enviromental conditions (crude oil and Acid rain) on various crop/medicinal plants; Use of some plants for bioremediation of crude oil polluted soils; Production of ethanol from some plant materials and currently on Utilization and Conservation of NUS crops for food security in the face of climate change and hunger.
