Andrew Elliott

Dr. Andrew Elliott has previously served as an assistant professor at the University of Washington's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He served as director of the consultation and primary care and behavioral health services at Harborview Medical Center. While at the University of Washington he worked with Marsh Linehan, Ph.D. and is trained in dialectical behavior therapy. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Southern California State Psychiatric Association, and the Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists. Elliott has worked for Riverside County Department of Mental Health since 2005 and worked primarily with homeless mentally ill patients who he has provided both pharmacotherapy and dialectical behavior therapy. He has been training therapists in dialectical behavior therapy at Riverside County Department of Mental Health since 2012. He has practiced in Southern California since 2003 and worked in a variety of settings including private practice, inpatient and community mental health.

Biography
Dr. Andrew Elliott, M.D., M.P.H.,is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine and medical director for the Riverside County Department of Mental Health. Elliott received his M.D. from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, then completed his internship and residency at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He subsequently completed a Master's degree in public health at the University of Washington Department of Public Health. He is awarded as Physician Modeling Recovery Award, Riverside County Dept of Mental Health, 2013. William Webb Consultation Liaison Fellowship, 1998-2000. Thomas H. Holmes Research Scholar Award, 1998-2000. NCDEU New Investigator Award, 1997.
Research Interest
Elliott has completed research in areas of depression and HIV infection, outcomes focused treatments and has experience in a variety of areas including dialectical behavior therapy, suicidal behavior, personality disorders, depression and psychiatric issues in medical illness.
