Intellectual Disability is a neurodevelopmental disorder where intellectual and adaptive functioning is highly impaired. An individual with Intellectual Disability typically has an IQ score below 70. Intellectual functioning, refers to general mental capacity, such as learning, reasoning, problem solving, and so on. Ã¯Â»Â¿People with severe intellectual disability may experience seizures, mood disorders (anxiety, autism, etc.), motor skills impairment, vision problems, and/or hearing problems. Ã¯Â»Â¿People with intellectual disabilities can and do learn new skills, but they learn them more slowly.
