Description

Cosmetic dentistry focuses on the appearance of your teeth. Common services in this dental classification include whitening and straightening teeth. In some cases, this form of dentistry can overlap with the restoration dentistry of dental implants. This improves both mouth function and the appearance of a smile. Before cosmetic dentistry, the dentist will want to make sure your remaining teeth are healthy and do not require further maintenance. Therefore, inspection and cleaning may be required. If your teeth require padding, root canals, or crowns, you can perform these services before aesthetic dentistry. Doing this before a cosmological treatment will give your teeth the healthiest and best cosmological results. Some treatments fall into the category of cosmetic dentistry.

Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening are one of the most popular procedures in cosmetic dentistry. Everyone wants to show off their bright white smiles with their social media profiles, workplaces, online meetings, and friends and loved ones. A white smile is perceived as belonging to a healthy and confident person. Especially those with a good smile will be proud of it. There are tooth whitening kits available at pharmacies, but they do not offer the thorough whitening available at dental offices. These kits only remove surface stains, not tooth stains that start inside the teeth. Only expert bleaching can remove this type of discoloration.

Dental bonding

Dental bonding is a quick way for a dentist to quickly hide a missing tooth that does not require additional care. Adhesion usually requires a single visit to create a material that can be used to restore the appearance of the missing tooth. You can also fill the gaps between your teeth to create a more even smile. During gluing, the restoration material is glued to the tooth enamel. It is usually not a long-term solution as it can be scraped off and needs to be replaced over time. However, it is cheaper than veneer and there is an opportunity to switch to porcelain veneer in the future.

Porcelain veneers

Porcelain Veneer is a custom-made tooth cover that provides a long-term alternative to dental bonding. These require multiple visits to prepare the teeth and apply the veneer, as the dentist needs to send the mold to the preparation lab for production. Once you have a veneer, you can easily withstand it for years. Porcelain veneer can withstand dirt, therefore, if a veneer is needed, the dentist must first whiten the teeth to match the veneer to the colour of the adjacent teeth. If you whiten your teeth after veneer, the colors will not match.

Dental crown

These are tooth caps made of porcelain, acrylic, or ceramic. The crown repairs missing, broken, or rotten teeth and attaches them to dental implants.

Dental implant

Dental implants are both restoration and cosmetic. They restore the biting ability of your teeth by filling the gaps left by extractions or lost teeth. The implant is firmly attached to the jawbone and feels like a real tooth. The crown is colored and sized to fit one of your teeth, so it looks like a natural tooth. In some cases, the patient may have a tooth problem that requires a tooth extraction. In this case, talk to your dentist about implants to replace your teeth. This restores a smile, prevents alignment problems after tooth loss, and provides a natural look without partial or dentures.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a procedure for orthodontic teeth using a transparent splint instead of a brace. This option is ideal for adults who want to improve their smiles without the need for others to know about their treatment.
