Ultraviolet-based treatment has developed into an established method for managing a variety inflammatory and immunemediated skin conditions. By using specific wavelengths of light, this approach influences biological processes within the skin, leading to reduced inflammation, controlled cell growth, and relief from persistent symptoms. The method is widely applied in conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, and certain lymphoproliferative disorders of the skin, offering a non-invasive option that can be adjusted according to disease severity and patient response.

The concept behind this therapy lies in the interaction between ultraviolet radiation and skin cell. These reactions affect synthesis in rapidly dividing cells and alter immune responses that contribute to inflammation. In psoriasis, for example, excessive proliferation of keratinocytes is slowed down, while in eczema, immune signaling that leads to itching and redness becomes less active. The result is visible improvement in skin texture, color, and overall comfort.

Treatment sessions are typically conducted in a controlled clinical environment using specialized equipment.
