As new drugs continue to emerge and evolve, it is imperative that healthcare professionals remain well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, report, and manage Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). Recognizing the importance of pharmacovigilance education and training, a recent survey aimed to explore the needs and preferences of health professionals in this field. The survey's findings shed light on the current landscape and offer valuable insights for improving pharmacovigilance education.

Understanding the importance of pharmacovigilance

Pharmacovigilance serves as the cornerstone for drug safety, allowing healthcare professionals to monitor the effects of medications and identify potential risks. It encompasses various activities, including ADR reporting, signal detection, risk management, and drug utilization review. With a growing number of medications being introduced to the market and the complexity of adverse events, it is crucial for health professionals to possess comprehensive knowledge and training in pharmacovigilance.
